A yearly to twice yearly examination with our veterinarians allows us to look for underlying health conditions or changes, discuss preventative care and weight management, and get to know a baseline for your cat in case any medical concerns develop. We also love meeting and seeing cats!
Routine check-ups include a comprehensive nose to tail examination, and discussion of any questions or concerns you have about your feline companion. Regular monitoring allows for the proactive identification of subtle changes that may indicate underlying health issues, ensuring timely intervention and preventive care.
For cats under 10 years, we recommend a yearly wellness exam. As cats enter their senior years, exceeding the age of ten, we recommend examinations every 6 months. 6 months seems like a short period of time, but in cat years it is definitely comparable to a person having an annual check up. As older pets are at a higher risk of developing medical problems like kidney and thyroid disease. An increased visit frequency lets us find problems more quickly, and look for subtle changes from visit to visit. We also can see if wellness bloodwork or other testing is indicated, again to help look for early evidence of illness.
